Vikes Best Bruisers 12 - 6The Cedar Valley Vikings topped an impressive Dubuque Bruisers team 12 - 6 in their first-ever meeting Saturday, August 29.
The Vikings record now stands at 5 - 2 with the Bruisers 4 - 4. Both teams are in the Northern Division of the North American Football League (NAFL). The next two games for both teams are critical in determining playoff positioning. The Cedar Valley Vikings host the season rematch with the St. Paul Pioneers (7 - 1) at home on September 12th, with a 7:00 p.m. Kickoff at Sloane-Wallace Stadium in Waterloo. |

Cedar Valley Vikings Beat Des Moines Lightning 14 - 7The Cedar Valley Vikings defeated the Des Moines, Iowa Lightning 14 - 7 in their second match-up of the season Saturday, August 22. The rematch took place in Waverly, Iowa at Walston-Hoover Stadium, Wartburg College. The Vikes hope to host more games in the future at this spectacular venue, and would like to thank all of the Wartburg College staff for the opportunity to play in such an outstanding facility.
The Vikings record stands at 4 - 2; the Lightning record 7 - 1, each team now .500 against the other, while head-to-head the Lightning lead on point differential. Both teams are strong playoff contenders. The Vikes are at home on August 29th to take on a very tough Dubuque Bruisers team with a 7:00 p.m. Kickoff at Sloane-Wallace Stadium in Waterloo. |

Vikes Host Des Moines Lightning at Wartburg College August 22The Cedar Valley Vikings host the Des Moines Lightning in a season rematch Saturday, August 22 at 7:00 p.m. at Walston-Hoover Stadium, Wartburg College. The Lightning travel from Des Moines sporting a 7-0 record, while the Vikings stand at 3 - 2.
Vikes fans are encouraged to come out in force to enjoy the great weather and to support the home team.

Cedar Valley Tops Bridge City 20 - 8Perfect playing conditions and a fantastic football field were the backdrop as the Cedar Valley Vikings bested the Bridge city Knights 20 - 8 Saturday in Ottumwa, Iowa. The Knights (1 - 3) are first year members of the North American Football League (NAFL), which consists of 120 Semi-Pro or Amateur Adult teams Nation wide. Any team searching for the recipe for success at this level of football is well advised to follow the example of the Bridge City Knights organization. The Ottumwa home field, Schafer Stadium, sports arguably the best grass playing surface at this level of football. The knights management and staff, including owners that play themselves, represent absolutes in organization and sportsmanship. Any club lucky enough to compete with Bridge City will walk away an improved team, win or lose.
The Vikings, now 2 - 1 on the season, look forward to hosting the Knights at home on September 19th. In the mean time, Cedar Valley will spend this week preparing for an always tough rematch with the Iowa Eagles. The Vikes travel the short distance to Webster City on August 1st to face the Eagles in a 4:00 p.m. Kickoff. |

Vikes Drop Road Game to PioneersThe St. Paul Pioneers showcased their mastery of football fundamentals as they defeated the Cedar Valley Vikings 46 - 7 Saturday. The Pioneers (2 - 0) converted two Vikes fumbles, a punt and kickoff return for 26 of their 46 points. The Vikings, now 1 - 1 on the season, look forward to a shot at redemption when they face the Pioneers at home on September 12th. The Vikes prepare to travel South on July 25th to take on the Bridge City Knights with a 7:00 p.m. Kickoff. |

The Vikings record stands at 1 - 0; the Eagles record moves to 3 - 3. The Vikes prepare to travel North on July 11th to take on the St. Paul Pioneers with a 3:00 p.m. Kickoff. |

Cedar Valley Vikings Host Manson Eagles for Season OpenerThe Cedar Valley Vikings host the Manson Eagles in the season opener Saturday, June 20th at 4:00 p.m. at Sloane-Wallace Stadium in Waterloo. The Eagles, now known officially as the Iowa Eagles, come battle-hardened, already having accumulated a 3-2 record for the 2009 season.
The Cedar Valley Vikings played their inaugural season in 2002, and are back in action after the devastating floods of 2008.
The Manson Eagles have a solid team this year with a tough schedule. Manson, under two hours from the Cedar Valley, always travels a solid fan base. Vikes fans are encouraged to come out in force to support the home team.

Vikings Information and Organizational Meeting at Chasers 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 11th, Waterloo
All returning players and player candidates, make sure to attend the 2009 Vikings organizational meeting Saturday, April 11th at 3:00 p.m.
The organizational meeting will be held at Chasers Pub, 3005 University Ave, Waterloo, IA. The event will take place in the billiards/party room, and will last about 45 minutes, with Q&A to follow.
All returning players, coaches and staff, along with new players, coaches, and support staff interested in participating for the 2009 season should attend. This is an informational meeting to go over participation rules, expectations and practice schedules. A Questions and Answers session will take place at the end of the meeting. We will also cover details of the May fifth open Tryout Combine.
We encourage all potential participants (players, coaches, and support staff) to fill out the on-line applications before the meeting. Also, those NOT attending should drop a note via the contact section to help us plan for space requirements.

The first organizational meeting for the Season will be at Jamesons Public House, 310 East 4th Street, Waterloo, IA. The event will take place in the upstairs games area, and will last about 45 minutes, with Q&A to follow.
All returning players, coaches and staff, along with new players, coaches, and support staff interested in participating for the 2009 season should attend. This is an informational meeting to go over participation rules, expectations and practice schedules. A Questions and Answers session will take place at the end of the meeting. We will also cover details of the May fifth open Tryout Combine.

The Cedar Valley Vikings are an adult, amateur football team, and are members
of the North American Football
League as well as the
Mid-American
Football League. The Vikings are proud to call the
UNI-Dome home. The only covered facility in the NAFL, many believe that this is
the best football venue in Minor League Football today. Home games kickoff at
7:30 p.m. on Saturdays during the Season in the UNI-Dome at the University of
Northern Iowa.
The Vikings are avid supporters of the Cedar Valley. The Vikings are proud to
support youth sports, adult education, and youth and adult mentoring programs.
We are open to participating in any events to promote our community.
